Passbook Savings Account is a traditional type of savings account which comes with a physical passbook to record your savings balance.

Interest rate – 6% p.a.

  • No account opening fees
  • Account maintenance Fees: 1500 MMK  - If the account has had no deposit or withdrawal activity (other than posting interest) for a period of one year
Requirements
Minimum initial deposit : 1,000 MMK
Minimum balance : 1,000 MMK
Eligibility : Business must be registered and based in Myanmar. For SMEs which are not registered as companies, they can open personal account
Required Documents for Company
  •  Memorandum of Association and Article of Association
  • Company registration certificate
  • Business licenses
  • List and names of board of directors
  • Board of directors meeting minutes and resolutions to open the account
  • Names of individuals who will make transactions for and on behalf of the company and their specimen signatures
  • Company stamps
  • Additional requirements may apply

Can I subscribe to Mobile or Internet Banking services with this account?

Yes. You can link this account to your mobile or internet banking. However, companies can only register for Business Internet Banking.

If my savings passbook is lost, what should I do?

If you lose the savings passbook, please contact the CB Bank branch where you first opened the account. The bank will issue new passbook at a replacement charge of 500 MMK.

How can I make deposit?

You can deposit Cash? into your account as follows:

  • Payment orders
  • Fund transfer
  • Clearing and collection
  • CRMs machine
  • CB Bank Easi Mobile Agents.
How is interest calculated?

Interest is calculated on a monthly basis, based on the lowest credit balance. The interest amount will be credited to your account at the end of every three months.

Where can I make withdrawal?

The Account Holder can make withdrawal at any branch with your NRC Card.

Can I make withdrawal at branches other than the one where I opened the account?

You can make withdrawal at any branches within the same region without charges, but additional fees may apply if you withdraw in different regions other than the original region where your account was opened.

Can I link my savings account with standing instructions for payments?

Yes, you can link with standing instructions for regular payments (E.g. life insurance, share premium, bill payments) and buying stocks or shares, foreign currency and investment.
