Finance

Finance oversees the financial details of the bank from the micro level (for example, making sure transactions are booked accurately) to the macro level (such as setting budgets for all the departments of the bank or capital planning). It keeps track of the bank’s finances, overseeing the P&L and balance sheet for everything from individual departments and trading desks to the bank as a whole. It advises the senior management on the financial state and performance of all the areas of the bank, as well as on ways to lower costs, manage risk, and increase financial performance. It also forecasts financial performance and budgetary needs, and delivers information to external entities such as shareholders, creditors, tax authorities, regulatory authorities, and the auditors.

Risk Management   

Risk Management is one of the most critical functions of the bank. This function oversees the management of credit risk, market risk, operation risk and liquidity risk. This is also a continuously evolving function where new risks evolve over time and risk modelling requires continuously improvement. Risk Management need awareness of the macro-economic environment, changing technology trends, banking business and internal culture to manage the risks well. To be successful in this environment, you must be someone with good quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills. Moreover you need to have a strong background in risk management and finance.

Compliance

Compliance is an increasingly important function that protects the banking businesses from malpractices and misuses of the banking sector by illegal entities and activities and ensures the banking business is in line with international and local laws, regulations and guidelines.

Internal Audit

This is an ongoing monitoring of the bank’s system of internal controls and capital assessments procedure. Internal audit includes setting up plan and framework, researching and assessing required information, following up results, recommendations and issues. The aim of internal audit is to assess the reliability of the accounting system and information and resulting financial reports, to ensure that quality of the system is complied with laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

In order to perform well in this division you must have

  • Strong financing and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of Bank’s laws and regulations
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Knowledge and ability to create, implement, evaluate and enhance processes in internal controls
  • Professional qualification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA is preferred
Human Resources

Corporate Strategy & Development

Corporate Strategy & Development works on strategic planning including strategy formulation, execution and review, research, project and portfolio management. Strategy team works closely with the senior management team to originate and implement strategic initiatives that require cross-functional coordination. Together with other business leaders, the team oversees the formulation of various long-term and medium-term strategies in Business Strategy, Talent Management Strategy, Technology Management Strategy and Innovation Strategy.

A typical candidate in Strategy Function possesses a good MBA degree with proven experience or strong knowledge in one of the business or technology functions in the bank. We occasionally accept fresh graduates with excellent academic background before they move on to other functions in the later part of their careers with the bank.
